AXIA x Lili Cantero: Hand-Painted Collector Box Sets for FIFA World Cup 2026

The FIFA World Cup™ happens once every four years, but the memories it creates often last a lifetime: the goal, the save, the final whistle, and the pride of watching a country compete on the world's biggest stage. As the creator of an Official Licensed Product for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, AXIA's role is to translate that emotion into heirloom-quality timepieces designed to be worn, remembered, and passed down.

For its most limited FIFA World Cup 2026™ collector's offering, AXIA partnered with renowned sports artist Lili Cantero to bring the emotion of the tournament beyond the watch itself. Known for transforming meaningful sports objects into works of art, Cantero created hand-painted walnut display boxes that turn AXIA's Collector's Box Sets into something more personal, more visual, and more connected to the feeling of football.

Limited to 20 sets per country, each box becomes a one-of-twenty artwork created to hold the pride, energy, and emotion of a nation's FIFA World Cup 2026™ story.

Lili Cantero's Art Meets AXIA's FIFA World Cup 2026™ Collection

For AXIA, the collaboration with Cantero gives the Collector's Box Sets an artistic presence equal to the significance of the watches inside. The watches commemorate the tournament through timekeeping, craftsmanship, and country-specific design. Cantero's artwork adds a human, hand-painted layer to the collection, giving each set a visual expression of football's emotion and national pride.

As AXIA Founder and CEO John Kanaras explained, "You are not getting a licensed product in a printed box. You are getting the full AXIA watch collection for a nation with a hand-painted box by one of soccer's most significant artists."

Cantero's work has long lived at the intersection of football, art, and emotion. She is known for painting on unconventional surfaces, including football boots, balls, and other objects that already carry meaning within the culture of sport. That history made the walnut collector's box a natural canvas for this project.

"A football boot represents dreams and sacrifice. A ball represents connection and community. A watch box represents time, legacy, and permanence," Cantero said.

That made AXIA's walnut display box a natural canvas. The box is designed to showcase one watch, but its meaning extends across the full Collector's Box Set. It becomes the artistic anchor for the product bundle: a hand-painted object that reflects the country's identity, the tournament's energy, and the permanence of the memory being commemorated.

"What drew me to AXIA was the emotional connection behind the brand," Cantero said. "This partnership felt bigger. It felt like creating something that captures memory, legacy, and emotion through design."

What's Inside Each Box Set

Each AXIA x Lili Cantero Collector's Box Set brings together a nation's complete set of three Official Licensed Timepieces for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, presented with a hand-painted walnut display box. Each watch is individually numbered within its tier.

KOSMOS ($225, 36mm) runs on a Miyota GL22 Japanese quartz movement in a bioceramic case, with a mineral crystal and 100m water resistance. It ships with a color-matched FKM rubber strap. The KOSMOS is designed for youth to commemorate the tournament.

ENOSI ($795, 38mm) is Swiss Made, powered by a Sellita SW200 automatic movement in 316L stainless steel, with a sapphire crystal and 100m water resistance. It comes with two straps: Italian Saffiano leather and color-matched FKM rubber straps. The ENOSI is made for everyday wear.

ARGOS ($1,495, 42mm) is Swiss Made, powered by an ETA 2824 automatic movement, with a sapphire exhibition caseback showing a custom FIFA World Cup 2026™ rotor, a sapphire crystal, DLC-coating, and 300m water resistance. It comes with a DLC-coated jubilee bracelet and a color-matched FKM rubber strap. The ARGOS is made for wearing now and passing down over time.

The set is anchored by a hand-painted walnut single-watch display box created by Lili Cantero. Only 20 box sets exist for each nation.

A Collector's Box Inspired by Football, Memory, and National Pride

Cantero's creative process began with the feeling of the tournament itself. Before thinking about color or composition, she focused on the emotional atmosphere of football: movement, anticipation, unity, pressure, celebration, and the pride of watching a nation compete.

"My process always starts with emotion before aesthetics," she said. "I think about what a moment feels like before I think about colors or composition."

Across the box sets, Cantero uses dynamic brushstrokes, layered textures, and country-specific palettes to evoke the intensity of the game and the identity of each nation. Her style brings motion to the surface, creating artwork that feels alive while still belonging within a refined collector's object.

"I wanted the boxes to feel like frozen moments of energy, almost as if emotion itself had been painted onto the surface," Cantero said.

That sense of movement is central to the collaboration. The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be remembered through moments that happen quickly but stay with people for years. A single goal, save, penalty, or final whistle can become part of a fan's memory forever. AXIA's watches mark that memory through design and timekeeping. Cantero's artwork gives form to what the moment felt like.

"Timekeeping and art are both about preserving meaning," Cantero said. "One measures time, while the other preserves what time felt like."

The 2026 tournament carries added significance as it comes to the United States, Canada, and Mexico. For Cantero, who lives in Miami and works at the intersection of art and football culture, contributing to this moment through her artwork is especially meaningful.

"The World Cup is more than a tournament," she said. "It becomes a global emotional experience that brings together cultures, generations, and communities through one shared passion."

Each AXIA x Lili Cantero Collector's Box Set captures that shared passion through a country-specific lens. Only 20 will exist for each nation, each bringing together three Official Licensed Timepieces, matched collector numbering, and a hand-painted walnut single-watch display box created to be displayed, revisited, and passed down.

For collectors, the result is the rarest expression of AXIA's FIFA World Cup 2026™ collection: a complete national watch set paired with original artwork by one of football's most distinctive artists. Together, the watches and hand-painted box preserve the emotion, identity, and pride of a tournament that will be remembered long after the final whistle.
