Our Story
In 1988, John Kanaras was a member of the University of Pennsylvania lacrosse team that made an unexpected run to the Final Four. The team wasn’t favored, and after making it to the semi-finals, they didn’t ultimately win. But the season was about more than a record – for John, it became a lesson in teamwork, self-belief, and resilience.
That time in John’s life, and the people he shared it with, shaped him. He wanted something to carry with him that could hold those memories, keep them close, and bring him back with just a glance.
The team was given a commemorative watch, but it was forgettable and generic – a mismatch for the time in his life, which was meaningful and deeply personal.
Years later, John created AXIA Time to do better: To honor the path that made us who we are by marking once-in-a-lifetime moments with beauty, care, and permanence that endures.
What began with one watch has become a movement trusted by universities, championship teams, service organizations, and individuals marking their defining moments.
But it all began with one realization.
